A complete Electric Standing Desk panel codes troubleshooting guide.

Vari® Electric Standing Desks make it easy to go from sitting to standing throughout the day. The control panel allows you to program up to 4 height settings to the control panel memory so you're just one touch away from your perfect height. Once the initial setup is complete, you may experience a control panel code that requires additional troubleshooting.

For Electric Standing Desk 48x30, 60x24, 60x30, 72x30, Electric Standing Desk with ComfortEdge, Curve Electric Standing Desk, or Ergo Electric Standing Desk 54x26

Table Leg Failure | Code E01, E02

Disconnect the leg cables from the control box. Reconnect cables, ensuring all cables are fully connected. Follow below instructions to reset (RST) the desk. If error persists, contact Vari.

Overload | Code E03

If the desk is at or over its weight capacity; remove items or reduce weight from the desktop. Follow below instructions to reset (RST) the desk.

Data Error | Code E04

The control panel may need to be reset. Follow below instructions to rest (RST) the desk.

Button Stuck | Code E05

If one of the buttons on the control panel is stuck, move the affect button back and forth to release. If the button remains stuck, contact Vari.

Connection Error | Code E06

Check the connection between the control box and the control panel. Make sure all cables are fully connected. Follow below instructions to reset (RST) the desk.

Height Setting Error | Code E07, E08

E07 will display if the cable connected to the M1 port is not fully secured; E08 will display if the cable connected to the M2 port is not fully secured. Disconnect and er-connect the cable. Follow below instructions to reset (RST) the desk. If error persists, contact Vari.

Motor Overuse | Code H01

If the desk is raised and lowered continuously for more than 2 minutes, it will display this code and cease working temporarily to protect the mechanism from overheating. Stop adjusting the desk, and resume after 20 minutes.

System Reset | Code RST

If the display is showing an error code:

  1. Make sure all cables are securely connected.
  2. Press and hold the down arrow button (about 5 seconds) on the control panel until “RST” flashes on the screen.
  3. Release the down arrow button and continue with the steps below.

If the display is already flashing "RST":

  1. Press and hold down the arrow button until the desk reaches the lowest height, raise slightly, and finally displaying 25.0.
  2. Do not release the arrow button until 25.0 is shown on the control panel.
  3. The desk is now ready to use.

Panel codes for desks purchased before 6/1/2020

Table Leg Failure | Code E01

Disconnect the leg cable from the cable attached to the desk. Reconnect and make sure the cable are fully connected. If error persists, contact Vari.

Motor Overuse | Code E02

If the desk is raised and lowered consistently for more than 2 minutes, it will display this error. Stop adjusting and resume after 20 minutes.

Overload | Code E03

If the desk is at or over its weight capacity; remove items or reduce weight from the desktop.

Data Error | Code E04

The control panel may need to be reset. Follow initial setup instructions to reset the control panel.

Button Stuck | Code E05

Check the connection between the desk and the control panel. Make sure all cable are fully connected.

Height Setting Error | Code E07

Control panel error while registering desk height. Follow instructions to initialize and then recalibrate the desk.

Over Current Protection | Code E01

Over current protection feature triggered, over current always caused by over loading. Remove items or reduce weight from concentrated area (rated loading is average distribution). Follow the reset instruction to reset the system. If error persists, contact Vari.

Hall Error | E07

E07 will display if the cable connected to the M1 port is not fully secured. Disconnect and reconnect the cable. Follow below instructions to reset (RST) the desk. If the error persists, contact Vari.

Over Duty Protection | H01

If the desk is raised and lowered continously for more than 2 minutes, it will display this code and cease working temporarily to protect the mechanism from overheating. Stop adjusting the desk, and resume after 20 minutes.

System Reset | RST

If the display is showing an ERROR CODE: Make sure all cables are securely connected. Press and hold the down button (about 5 seconds) on the control panel until RST flashes on the screen. Release the down button, and continue with the steps below.

If the display is already flashing “RST”: Press and hold the down button until the desk reaches the lowest height, raise slightly, and finally displaying height number. Do not release the down button until height number is shown on the control panel. The desk is now ready to use.
