I ordered two file cabinets
"I ordered two file cabinets and they were shipped using F#dEx Ground. Both arrived damaged, one was dropped on its corner so hard the whole thing was out of square. Vari was awesome and immediately shipped two more - they too arrived damaged. So Vari resorted to using a pallet and an LTL shipping company to get two undamaged units to me. While I admire the engineering that Vari has put into their packaging, these file cabinets are too susceptible to items penetrating the sides and damaging the file cabinets. Also I'm fairly certain people with the original shipping company tried lifting and moving these using the plastic straps around the cardboard - And these either slipped off or broke (not one of the four shipped via that carrier had all 4 straps on and in the original places). The cabinets themselves are definitely up to what I expect from Vari. However there's one really annoying design choice - The pencil tray can only be installed at the very front of either of the two top drawers. Which creates an awkward dead space in what should be the most accessible part of the drawer. I love the soft close drawers, and I wish they had that feature in the under desk storage unit I installed for my Varidesk."
First filing cabinet received was
"First filing cabinet received was severely damaged from transit. Top corner, back side was so impacted you couldn't open the top drawer. The replacement cabinet took about a week to arrive and was damaged as well. The large drawer on the replacement cabinet doesn't currently open due to damage incurred on 2nd trip. I will fix the replacement myself and just deal with it. I didn't want to repeat the hassle of another replacement and it's already annoying. Nice cabinet that didn't arrive in one piece and wouldn't. Packaging is not sufficient to survive shipping."
